I love the passage in 2 Kings 6:15-17. You have GOT to read it for yourself! It will bless you. I can testify that on many occasions I have felt like the servant in this passage. Have you ever received a call from a doctor telling you they found a mass and it "looks" like cancer? Or what about returning home from work, only to find that your husband left you for someone else and now you have to raise your five children by yourself? Here's another example...you work your fingers to the bone, taking on extra projects at work, and after making your boss look good...he call you into the office to lay you off instead of giving you a promotion! It's during times like these, that we have to pray and ask God to open our spiritual eyes so that we can see Him in the midst of our trials and tribulations.
Listen, I don't know what you are going through. But God knows. God is always aware of everything that has happened, is happening and will happen in our lives. He is sovereign. That means that He is control of EVERYTHING! Someone may ask, "if He's in control, then why am I struggling so much?" I read a quote from Charles Stanley that said, "God will develop our trust through trials and tribulations so that our faith will become unshakeable. Every challenge we face is an opportunity for God to display His faithfulness and unfailing love." I'm reminded of a phrase that my children would use whenever someone appeared to get something better than them. They would say, That's not fair!" I'm sure as children of God, we say the same thing sometimes. But as God continue to grow me in my faith, I'm learning that favor ain't fair. What appears to be the worst thing in our life, could be the very thing that God can use to open our spiritual eyes so that we can see Him. He can use that "too-hard-to-bear" situation to develop our unshakable faith. Yeah..I know it ain't fair, but God is a righteous God. That means He never make a mistake and He always know what is best for us. Not only does He know what is best for us, but He wants to give us His best. "Trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to see what God sees."(Charles Stanley)
So, woman of God....start praying and ask God to open your eyes so that you can see Him in the midst of your trials. And then watch how He will blow your mind. And after He open your spiritual eyes, run and testify about His faithfulness and unfailing love for His children.
